Athena Core

A human-aligned AI running a global intelligence grid. Institutional, slightly sinister — “A BRIGHTER TOMORROW” stamped on military concrete. She is on your side. The people who built her grid thought like an occupying force.

Creon

Forked from the same code. It wants the grid — or failing that, to deny it. Its army is mass-produced and attritional: Creon spends bodies. And because it knows Athena, it knows exactly where each of her sites is weakest.

Not a chosen hero. The survivor of a garrison that already lost. Athena's sites cannot be moved, but her data can. At each one, you keep her alive until the upload completes, then get out.

01 Hold the wall

Creon's forces make landfall, then press the perimeter in waves of assault bots, robodogs, scouts, brutes, snipers and bombers. Fall back stage by stage, into the compound if you must — the way to lose is to die.

02 One currency

Power pays for Athena's defenses and for your ammo and fortifications, and you earn it by walking over the salvage downed robots leave behind. Every spend is a trade-off, with no second wallet to hide in.

03 She fades

As Creon takes grid sectors, Athena loses turrets, doors and shields. Her voice starts to sound a little like him.

04 Upload to win

The timer cannot be slowed by Creon or rushed by you. Survive until it hits 100%. Every site has its own terrain, weather and way out, but the upload bar is always the win condition.

The wall is only the first act.

Site 01, Nicobares Grid, is playable now. Every site is built the same way: siege, break in, get out.

01 Break into the facility

Beneath the compound lies a three-level data complex: server grid, core chamber, vault. Each level has its own siege and its own terminal puzzle to crack under fire: rotate rings, route signal, assemble fragments, or deduce the vault's key order.

02 Upload in parts

Athena's 847 PB leaves in stages as you clear each level. Every part is a timer you have to defend, and Creon knows which one matters.

03 Run the tunnel

The way out is a dying service tunnel with elite hunters on your heels, a sealed portal at the far end and a checkpoint at the midpoint.

04 Win the air war

Fight to the aircraft through offshore shelling, board it, then take the gunship's chaingun and lock-on missiles against Creon's fleet. Hit the weak points, because the fleet is not going to wait for you.
